Electronic Knowledge Interchange Named Finalist in Chicago Innovation Awards
Chicago, IL (November 1, 2010) — In October, Electronic Knowledge Interchange (EKI) was named a finalist in the 2010 Chicago Innovation Awards. EKI’s nomination was for its extensive development work on the Chicago Health Alert Network (Chicago HAN).
Implemented in the wake of the 2001 terrorist and Anthrax attacks, the Chicago Health Alert Network (Chicago HAN) is an advanced communications system designed to rapidly and securely inform the healthcare, law enforcement and emergency responder communities when public health emergencies occur. The updated Chicago HAN, launched in 2009, is now a far-reaching collaboration tool that connects a diverse network of healthcare professionals and government organizations.
