The Chicago HAN — Health Alert Network — is an innovation born out of a time of national tragedy — the 2001 terrorist and anthrax attacks. Allowing medical, law enforcement and government officials and institutions to rapidly communicate critical information in times of emergency, the Chicago HAN is an essential communications portal.

In 2009, EKI was asked to upgrade the Chicago HAN to allow it to handle greater capacity while making it more efficient and cost effective.
